What is the battery capacity of the G2, and are there any additional house batteries?

The vehicle itself has a 173kWh battery to power the drivetrain. Grounded adds a 10kWh house battery to power all appliances in the living/working space. The house battery can be made larger or smaller in 5kWh increments.

How does the house battery charge?

Accepted Answer

The house battery can be charged in 3 ways: (1) from the 1000W roof-top solar panel array; (2) from 15A 110V exterior shore power port; (3) from the BrightDrop vehicle battery at 300W every time you turn the vehicle on.

How does the vehicle battery charge?

Accepted Answer

The vehicle comes with an exterior CCS charge port and can be charged with any CCS charger, including public DC fast chargers (Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, etc.) and via our included home level 1 charging cable. Soon, you will be able to also use a CCS>NACS adapter to charge the vehicle at the Tesla Supercharger network (estimated Q3 2024).

How many passengers can the G2 accommodate?

Accepted Answer

There are two seats in the front with seatbelts (driver and passenger). You can customize your living space to have as much seating as you want.

Does the G2 have a hitch receiver for towing trailers or hauling bike racks?

Accepted Answer

The vehicle does not have a hitch receiver as GM does not rate this vehicle for towing. Grounded has developed exterior accessories for holding bikes, kayaks, surfboards, and any other adventurous gear you need to store.

What are the interior and exterior customization options available for the G2?

Our modular system enables a fully custom furniture layout, and you can choose the color of your interior cab area as well as your exterior vinyl wrap. Our team can even work with you to design a custom exterior wrap.

Can the G2 be used off-road, and how does it handle rough terrain?

The powerful all wheel drive system handles moderate off-road conditions remarkably well. We have powered up hills covered in wet grass, and climbed up steep, gravel covered mountain tracks. It is not designed for extreme off-roading, so bear in mind that you will not be doing any rock climbing in this.

Water tanks in the G2 are 16 gallons for both fresh and greywater, with options to increase capacity. We have shipped G2s with fresh water tanks as large as 50 gallons.

Yes, the lights are dimmable and color-adjustable. You can create the vibe of choice through the Grounded+ app.

What kind of insulation and climate control / HVAC does the G2 have?

We use 2-inch foam insulation in addition to sheep’s wool insulation around the entire interior structure of the vehicle, providing an extraordinary R-value of 25. We have an electric heat pump in the interior (separate from the vehicle heat pump system) that provides hot and cold air during all seasons.

Absolutely, we can install a safe, and our modular system is perfect for adding these types of additions yourself in the future, too!

The G2 built on the Zevo 600 platform (24’ long) has 1000W of solar on the roof, and the Zevo 400 version (20’ long) has 600W of solar. In the future we plan to release additional solar capacity options (that you can use to upgrade your existing G2!).

Of course, our whole interior layout is modular, so you can have as much or as little seating as you like. You could fill your entire vehicle with nothing but beds if you wanted to!

Both the rear garage door and the partition door between the driver cab and interior living space have robust anti-theft locking mechanisms that require keys in hand near the door you are entering/exiting for the door to open.

We wrap our vehicles rather than painting them, and we love doing custom wraps on our vehicles. You can supply the design or we can do the custom design for you.

Our house batteries can be customized in increments of 5kWh, and the Grounded+ app is always being upgraded with new features. The infotainment system in the cab is provided by GM and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How long does the battery last on a single charge, and what is the expected lifespan of the battery?

The official range of the BrightDrop Zevo is 270 miles. With the Grounded upfit, this tends to be closer to 250, but it really depends on how you drive the vehicle. Speed is the most important factor, and above 65mph you will see a large decrease in range. The EV propulsion battery comes with an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Can the G2's interior configuration be altered after purchase?

Yes, the G2’s modular design system allows it to be altered after purchase by simply removing the fasteners of the desired module to swap, removing said module, and then attaching the replacement module with fasteners. You can order new modules from Grounded any time!
